All the Single Ladies

I have a new favorite:

For those of you who are wondering if this is for real, it is, and it's great. To explain how it works read this post. Aubrey was the first, she was coaxed into it by her roommates, the producers of the blog. And guess what?! Out of all craziness... it worked for her! See here.
So now they are accepting applicants for the new bachelorette...  (any of you single ladies brave enough to sign up?!)
As you can tell, I have done my research, and find it super entertaining. Join me as I follow along on these dates, and give my view on how they went. As for right now, I don't know how they are going to pick the new bachelorette, they all seem so amazing and deserving!

Something Borrowed

I can not wait until May 6, I really want to see this!

I want to make a few predictions before I do see it though, and we'll see if I'm right or not.
My guesses all revolve around John Krasinski.
First watch the preview:

Now I really like Dex, but I'm also crushing on Ethan.
So now I don't know who I want Rachel to end up with!
-Dex is a cheater, even though it is with the one we want to win him
-And Ethan is her best friend and confidant.

My prediction:
Ethan may be gay.
I just am going to throw that out there, so that when it comes back that he is, I guessed it first.
And if he's not, and ends up with Rachel, to her the victor.
I'm at a hard place: Dex the HOTTIE, and Ethan the friend, the one I would end up falling in love with.

Either way I love the actress playing Rachel: Ginnifer Goodwin. (she was my favorite in He's Just Not That Into You as Gigi- seriously if they didn't have the nasty Scarlett Johansson/married man combo, it would be a favorite movie- I love the Gigi storyline!!!)

And I love Kate Hudson, even if she does play the self centered friend.

All in all- who else is really excited for May 6?!

Just an FYI...

As I wrote my last post I looked into Buble thinking if things didn't work out between me and my dear Rupert Friend then I would not mind at all if she would set me up with Michael. Usually I don't do sloppy seconds, but for him I would

But as I looked into it, come to find out, it is too late.

He is getting married this week. On Saturday in fact. To this beautiful model.

Recognize her?

yep, she was in his music video, after he wrote THIS song for her.

I guess I'll cross him off my list... Mazel Tov!

if I could trade lives with one person for a day...

dear emily blunt, I adore you!

I loved you in Devil Wears Prada as the snarky, redhead assistant.

I loved your role as the witty love interest and amazing dancer in The Adjustment Bureau.

(though I still am undecided with how much I like the actual movie)

and I am now OBSESSED with your movie Young Victoria.

Amazing job acting, the movie was BEAUTIFUL... almost as beautiful as Rupert Friend. He broke up with Keira Knightly last year, so Emily, if you could, set a sister up! I am in love! He is amazing, darling, so hot, and adorable in this movie!!!

Anyhow, back to my admiration of Emily... not only has her film life been grand (she played the queen) but let me tell you about her love life!!

She dated this beaut for a while. Imagine him singing you to sleep!! It is said he wrote Everything about/for her!

But after three years that ended....

and now she is MARRIED to HIM!!!

Dear John, you are a doll!! I can't wait to see your new movie Something Borrowed!

dear emily, you are one lucky lucky girl!

Aren't they cute together!?!

Love her, love him, love this!

have a HoLLy JOllY CHRISTmas!

"Ho Ho the mistletoe hung where you can see..."

Mistletoe sparked my interest today and I thought I’d share:

Mistletoe is actually a parasite plant. It grows on trees and sends its roots into the tree to suck up nutrients.

In the Middle Ages, mistletoe was hung to ward off evil spirits and in Europe it prevents the entrance of witches. It was considered to bestow fertility; a protection against poison; and is an aphrodisiac.

Kissing under the mistletoe is first found associated with the Greek festival of Saturnalia and later with primitive marriage rites. In Scandinavia, mistletoe was considered a plant of peace, where warring spouses can kiss and make-up.

Later, the eighteenth-century English credited with a certain magical appeal called a kissing ball. At Christmas time a young lady standing under a ball of mistletoe, brightly trimmed with evergreens, ribbons, and ornaments, cannot refuse to be kissed. Such a kiss could mean deep romance or lasting friendship and goodwill. If the girl remained unkissed, she can expect to marry the following year. In some parts of England the Christmas mistletoe is burned on the twelfth night lest all the boys and girls who have kissed under it never marry.

Even if the pagan significance has been long forgotten, the custom of exchanging a kiss under the mistletoe can still be found around the world. Now if a couple in love exchanges a kiss under the mistletoe, it is interpreted as a promise to marry, as well as a prediction of happiness and long life.

After reading over this I have decided a few things:

One: Isn’t it interesting how this “aphrodisiac,” this love inducer, is also a parasite. It’s true that relationships, at times, are parasitic: one half relying on the other for strength, and vice versa. I dare all of you who have a special someone to look into their eyes and affectionately call them a parasite… let me know what happens.

Two: I may start putting mistletoe in my apartment year-round to ward off catty, evil, witchy girls, and also to use it against poisonous relationships.

Three: In a world of divorce, we should follow the Scandinavians.

Four: I need to go to a kissing ball, and if I follow the old ways I hope not to be kissed.  If we are following the modern ways I hope to be kissed.  Either way it equals marriage in 2011… HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Cruel, Cruel Irony

I thought this was just too good that I just had to share.

I got together with a girlfriend this past weekend that I haven't seen in a while.  I was asking her about her beau and she told me is he actually married now.

Get this:  to a girl with her same name. Some guys have a thing for blonds, or short girls, or dancers. Nope he has a thing for the name Katherine.
